Good Hiking Sites

 

       Two of my favorite hikes last year was Hidden Lake Peak and Spider Meadow and Spider Gap.

• The Washington Trails Association is an exelent location for trail reports for Northwest Hiking.
• The Attrition.ws site has good reviews and nice pictures of many Northwest Hikes.
• If you like waterfalls, the Waterfalls of the Pacific Northwest site is the place to go.
• A list of Washington's highest peaks.
• This is a nice website focussing on the Mountain Loop Highway.
• I found this site by John Scurlock, he has some amazing pictures taken from his airplane.
• Don't forget to pick up a trail pass before you go.  The USDA Forest Service site has all the information.  Also you can find trail head conditions.

Weather Sites

• This Northwest Weather site has alot of raw weather data and links to satellite and the National Data Buoy Center.
• Washington State Mountain Pass information.
• This page is a legend for the symbols you see on some weather pages.

Digital Camera Sites

• This site "Digital Camera Reviews" has more technical data on cameras that the manufacter's web site.
• Steve DigiCams has good reviews as well, plus a good daily news and Photo of the Day pages.
• The Digital Photography Review is another very good site for reviews and user opinions.

Engineering Nerd Sites

• This is a forun for the cool Cypress PSoC microcontroller.
• If you want to learn some web languages, check out the W3Schools.
• A good site for web standards is the W3C.

Misc Sites

• Slim Devices have some pretty cool networked MP3 players.
• A couple friends of mine are sailing around the world in their boat Sohcahtoa, check out their web site.

Just for fun

• A must view site for engineers, Dilbert.
• If you want to see Star wars in 5 minutes, check out Dude Studios, too funny!
• If you enoy a cross between The Farside and Southpark, try Dr Fun.
